LaBryan Ray is a 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end.  Ray has the frame to play various positions along the defensive line.  He has nice body control, balance, intensity, effort and a great frame.  Ray holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Michigan, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas to name a few.  Ray hasn’t had a chance to speak with Charlie Strong much but has kept his eye on the Longhorns.

“Honestly, we haven't really talked lately,” LaBryan Ray said. “I do know how successful he has been. He turned Louisville, and he's trying to do Texas the same. I think the best thing about the University of Texas is the tradition. I know a lot of great players also have come out of Texas.” Take

Ray started off as a weakside end prospect, then became one considered a strongside end down the road. It is not out of the question that he grows into a defensive tackle. He has a great body and frame. His length is good, and he carries his weight extremely well. His motor stands out consistently. He plays hard. He also plays his keys, plays disciplined football and does his job. He is not an elite pass rusher yet, but he does put pressure on quarterbacks. He can set the edge, and he plays the run well. As a junior, he took off. He has real upside.
