Five-star linebacker Anthony Hines has narrowed his favorites list to 10. Scout recruiting analyst Greg Powers caught up with Hines at The Opening to get the inside scoop into all of the programs still in the mix for the nation's top ILB.
"It was straight from 90 to 10, it was very difficult. There are a lot of schools that were really close and are probably still in it. But as of now, I had to cut it to a number I could manage, so we will see if those other schools continue to recruit me."
Hines told Powers that Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, SMU, UCLA, Auburn, TCU, Oklahoma State, Florida and Oklahoma are all in the mix for his recruitment because they all fit into what he is looking for.
"Like all of the others, they were recruiting me really hard," Hines said. "They match in all of the faucets I'm looking for academically, socially and of course on the field."
When asked what he likes about the Longhorns, Hines commented on the relationships he has with the Texas staff and how strong the last recruiting classes have been.
"Coach BJ, Coach Bedford and Coach Strong all recruit me very hard. I have a good relationship with all three of them. It's a strong program and their last few recruiting classes were really strong. I believe they could make a lot of noise this year."
