Brock Sturges is a running back for Allen high school. He played for Seven Lakes last season and was named the 19-6A newcomer of the year as a sophomore. Sturges will camp with Texas Longhorns during Under the Lights on Saturday.
“I am very excited about attending Under the Lights Camp this Saturday,” Brock Sturges said. “Hoping to go out there and see where I stand with other players across the state and compete at a high level and hope to hear from the different coaches about recruiting. It would mean a lot to be recruited by a big-time program like the University of Texas!!”
Sturges is coming off a breakout sophomore season ending the year with 233 carries for 1,421 yards and 14 touchdowns.
“My biggest part of my game I would say is my vision, running downhill and receiving out the backfield, but I've been working on my breakaway speed this summer which has improved these couple of months,” Sturges said.
Sturges is looking forward to visiting Texas this weekend. He is impressed with what Charlie Strong is doing on and off the football field.
“I love what Coach Strong has done with the program with him not just building a great football program, but developing young men and preparing them for the real world outside of football,” Sturges said.
