Four-Star Athlete Caden Stern Lands Big Offer from the Texas Longhorns

As Under the Lights is about to get underway, four-star athlete Caden Sterns landed the Texas offer. He checks in from Cibolo (Texas) Steel High School. Sterns and his mother arrived early to meet with Charlie Strong and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford.

One of the most heavily recruited players in the country for the class of 2018 is going to be athlete Caden Sterns.  The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Sterns holds offers from numerous schools including Houston Cougars, LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, TCU Horned Frogs, UCLA Bruins and now the Texas Longhorns.  Texas extended the 2018 standout an offer at 4:29 today.

“Yes sir they offered sir,” Caden Sterns said.  His mother was also excited about this opportunity and chance to spend some time with the Texas coaching staff.

“She likes it a lot sir,” Sterns said.  “Not about football, but about the academics, its’ a great place with great coaches.”

Scout.com Take

Sterns older brother' -- Jordan Sterns -- was a high-level college recruit who no plays at Oklahoma State, so the family pedigree is strong. Caden is just beginning to fill out a frame that will easily hold around 200 pounds. He is a prospect who could play receiver or safety on the next level and be excellent at both. On offense, he is a natural play maker with above average attributes in all areas. On defense, he is an aggressive and bold defender who will make receivers fear to catch the ball in his area of coverage. He can run and covers ground quickly. His skills as a receiver make him a threat to make a big play for the defense in 50-50 scenarios. - Greg Powers
