Sources: Longhorns TE Blake Whiteley and WR Ty Templin Will Are Finished With Texas Football

Horns Digest has breaking injury news for the Texas Longhorns.

Tight end Blake Whiteley and wide receiver Ty Templin have been placed on medical scholarship and will not return to the football team, sources told Horns Digest Thursday.

Whiteley and Templin both suffered season-ending torn ACL injuries in 2015.

Whiteley signed with Texas in 2014 after spending one season at Arizona Western Community College. A highly touted JUCO prospect, Whiteley redshirted his first season in Austin and missed the entire 2015 season after tearing his ACL during fall camp.

A former walk on, Templin earned a scholarship during Charlie Strong's first season coaching at Texas. He served as a reserve wide receiver in 2014, catching one pass for 7 yards in 11 game appearances. He played in two games on special teams last season, before suffering a season-ending torn ACL injury.
