Three-star Alec Jackson is no ordinary defensive end checking in at 270-pounds. He has excellent body control, balance, explosion and is extremely quick off the ball. Jackson is ready for football.
“Heading into my last season of HS football is very exciting,” Alec Jackson said. “When I first started the weight room wasn’t my friend, but I stayed dedicated to the workout and trusted the coaches things would be easier after a while. This year I expect to be playing deep in the playoffs and hopefully play for a state championship.”
Jackson would like to visit for Texas/Oklahoma but needs to work out the kinks.
“I’m always talking to coach Brick Haley,” Alec Jackson said. “Sometimes he just checks in on me to see what I’m up to. When I went over there, the coaches were very cool and funny. I was always laughing because all they did was joke around just enjoying what they like to do which is coaching football.”
Jackson has the tools to be a defensive end in many schemes at the college level. With a great frame and quickness off the ball, he can be disruptive against the run and especially the pass, where it seems as if he hits another gear with a passer in sight. Jackson plays with good balance and can redirect in short spaces while using his hands well at times. He can improve on his overall technique against blockers while adding to his pass-rushing arsenal.
