2019 Standout QB Grant Gunnell Visits Texas Scrimmage

As the Texas Longhorns held their second scrimmage today, 2019 standout quarterback Grant Gunnell and his father made an unofficial visit.

Grant Gunnell checks in from Houston (Texas) St. Pius X from the class of 2019.  The 6-foot-5, 190-pound quarterback visited with his father.

“The first thing we did was we went and sat in the quarterback meeting with Coach [Sterlin] Gilbert,” Grant Gunnell said.

Gunnell had a chance to watch both Shane Buechele and Tyrone Swoopes up close.

“The both have really strong and accurate arms,” Gunnell said.  “The whole team was upbeat and energetic throughout the scrimmage.  My impression of the program is they are definitely on the rise, and coach [Charlie] Strong and the whole coaching staff are doing some great things with the program.”

Gunnell is one to remember for all recruiting fans, but especially for those fans in the state of Texas.

“The recruiting process has been really exciting, and my family and I are just enjoying it right now,” Gunnell said.  “I feel like right now as a player things I do great is going through and trusting my reads and making an accurate throw and my ability to get out of the pocket and run a little if needed, and all parts of my game can always be worked on.  As a player, I hate to lose and love competing against talent.”

Gunnell holds offers from Florida State Seminoles, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies.
