Timber Creek lost 37-28 to Denton High, but not because of 2018 wide receiver Erik Ezukanma. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide out ended his night with 14 receptions, 282 yards, and three touchdowns.
“I think I had a pretty good game individually, but it’s a team sport, and everyone has to execute in order to win,” Erik Ezukanma said. “The things I did well caught the ball first and then the run after the catch. Things I probably should have done better was blocking coming off the ball every single play as hard as I can.”
Ezukanma has an interest in Houston Cougars, Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He has yet to visit for a college game but likes what he sees from the Texas program.
“Texas program is on the come up, and I’d love to be a part of it,” Ezukanma said. “I haven’t been to a game nor a visit, but I’d love to go.”
Ezukanma possesses a great frame to become a big outside receiver, though his agility and penchant for making defenders miss in close quarters are reminiscent of a significantly smaller slot receiver. He's a smooth, gliding receiver who can hurt a defense vertically and in the screen game, while also preventing a serious threat in jet/fly situations. -- Gabe Brooks
