The Texas Longhorns ventured out West to offer elite Scout 100 safety Bubba Bolden. The four-star prospect out of powerhouse Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman High School announced the Texas offer Tuesday afternoon.
At 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds, Bolden is the No. 1 safety in the West region for 2017. He ranks No. 4 overall at his position and No. 65 nationally in Scout.com recruiting rankings.
A former USC Trojans pledge, Bolden re-opened his recruitment prior to his senior season - a decision that appears to have paid-off. The safety has since added offers from Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes and now Texas following his decommitment from the Trojans.
While he has not released an official Top 5 or favorites list, Arizona State Sun Devils, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes and UCLA Bruins are a few of the programs to have caught Bolden's attention.
He intends to announce his commitment at the Army All-American Bowl in early January.
