Defensive end Joshua Sanders checks in from Waxahachie (Texas) Life High School at 6-foot-5, 215-pounds. He made the visit to Austin with his dad and girlfriend.
“The first thing I did when I arrived was hung out with my family I brought with me, and also some people who I knew were there too,” Joshua Sanders said. “The game day experience for me was pretty fun, getting to hang out in the player lounge and see all the people tailgating. I didn't get a chance to talk to the coaching staff because I got there a little late.”
Sterlin Gilbert and the offense cranked things up in the third quarter after a sluggish start, and it was exciting to watch.
“That second half was awesome when the offense started to work and put some points up,” Sanders said. “The best parts of the game for me were just being able to attend the game and be on be the field. I've been a Longhorns fan since I was a kid, so it was nice to finally get to attend the game the way I was able to.”
What does the talented junior think about Charlie Strong?
“My impression of Charlie Strong and the program is, he's a coach that's not going to give up and quit no matter what and neither are the kids in the program,” Sanders said. “I feel like they're all working towards one goal and that the program is really good.”null
