Junior running back Nakia Watson checks in from Austin (Texas) Westlake high school. He is 6-feet, 215-pounds.
“When I first arrived I talked to the coach about our game plan for the next five games without Sam Ehlinger,” Nakia Watson said. “The atmosphere was fun; that's a place I would want to be in the next couple of years. I was able to spend time with the coaching staff. “They asked me after the game if I think I could hang with the boys on the team, and I said yes sir.”
After a slow start, Watson was impressed with the way the Longhorns played Saturday night.
“What I saw from the players on both sides, they started off slow, but then started executing all the plays,” Watson said. “The crowd was insane, a type of crowd I would love to play in. I thought the offense did really good once they clicked, the 2nd half offenses, is the Texas offense that I know, and look up to. The best part of the game is watching Foreman run; he's a load. The best part of the trip is going into the locker room after a big win, to see how happy the coaching staff and players are. Texas has a really good locked in program. I think Coach Strong is a heck of a coach, every player on that team is blessed to have him as a coach.”null
