2018 Standout DE DeKalen Goodson Loves his visit to Texas

Tyler (Texas) John Tyler standout outside linebacker prospect Dekalen Goodson made an unofficial trip as Texas hosted Iowa State. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Goodson loved what he saw from the Texas defenders.

“I love defense point blank,” DeKalen Goodson said.  “The way they dominated Iowa State was outstanding and the crowd was loud, and they were so into the game.”

The offense took a little time to get things going but it’s hard to keep the Texas offense down for an entire game.

“It took some time but once they got it together it was great,” Goodson said.

For his first ever Texas things could not have gone any better for Goodson and his family.

“When I first arrived I ate and talked to some of the other recruits,” Goodson said “It was More than I expected.  Overall, it was a great trip, and this was my first Texas game I've ever attended, and they had a great first impression, and the best part was just being around such a good program.  Charlie Strong is a great coach from what I hear and also saw today.”

Goodson has interest from Houston Cougars, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Kansas State Wildcats, Purdue Boilermakers, SMU Mustangs and Texas Longhorns. Mississippi State has extended a verbal offer at this time.
