HornsDigest.com has confirmed reports that quarterback turned wide receiver Kai Locksley is expected to transfer from Texas.
Locksley has not been a part of team meetings and will not have involvement with the Longhorns football team moving forward, sources close to the situation told HD Monday morning.
When asked about the transfer during his Monday press conference, head coach Charlie Strong said he first met with the wide receiver roughly one month ago to discuss his transfer. During the meeting, Strong told Locksley to focus on his studies and get good grades to avoid any GPA eligibility issues in the transfer process.
A former three-star recruit, Locksley flipped his commitment from Florida State to Texas right before National Signing Day in 2015.
Although a highly-touted prospect out of Maryland, Locksley never saw the field during his first two seasons playing at Texas.
