“When I first arrived I went to the athletic center and toured the player lounge and looked at all the trophies and awards,” Trace Oldner said.
Oldner spent some time with Texas offensive line coach Matt Mattox.
“Everyone was very friendly, and I had the chance to talk to Coach Mattox for a bit about my team’s season as well as where the Longhorns are with their season,” Oldner said.
Oldner paid special attention to the offensive line play, blocking schemes and fans on Saturday night. He walked away impressed with the experience Texas had to offer.
“I loved the atmosphere playing the Eyes of Texas, and the chants from the crowd,” Oldner said. “It seemed like a rough start, but Texas definitely picked up and started to make good drives down the field. I was impressed with the offensive line and their blocking schemes; they gave the quarterback plenty of time to make the play. I liked getting to talk to some of the player’s families and other people sitting around us about how the players talk very highly about Charlie Strong. He's a player’s coach with their best interest at heart. Overall had a very impressive visit at UT.”
