2018 DL Jaylon Hutchings Talks about his visit to Texas as they host WV

2018 defensive lineman Jaylon Hutchings made an unofficial visit as Teas hosted West Virginia earlier today. The 6-foot-1, 260-pound standout made the trip with his mother and little brother.

SMU has already extended a verbal offer to Jaylon Hutchings.  The Forney (Texas) Forney standout talked about his experience today as Texas hosted West Virginia.

“It was a great first experience,” Hutchings said. “I enjoyed the atmosphere leading up to the game and during. I visited with my mom and little brother. I thought the offense and defense came out with a lot of energy; the defense made spectacular plays by causing turnovers and the offense made big plays running and throwing the ball. Even though they lost, I liked how they played hard and still fought back when down.”

Hutchings was not able to spend much time with the Texas coaching staff but was blown away by the environment.

“I shook the d-line coaches hand, and he just told me it's good to see you then after that he went to warmups with the team,” Hutchings said. “I didn't spend time with any other recruits except just hanging around in the player’s lounge before the game. The environment was unbelievable hardly anyone sat down the entire game. You could feel the energy inside and stadium and it was very loud, there was never a dual moment. I would just say I was very impressed by the atmosphere and I'm looking forward to coming back to Austin to visit the coaches and team.”
