TEXAS LONGHORNS COACHING HOT BOARD

Why Herman is a candidate?

Tom Herman has been the leading candidate in many Texas fans and big money donors’ minds for a while. A former University of Texas graduate assistant under Mack Brown, Herman is a bright, young coach in the industry and coaching at Texas has been considered Herman’s “dream job”, according to sources close to the coach.

JIMBO FISHER – FLORIDA STATE

Why Fisher is a candidate?

Jimbo Fisher was a coach the Longhorns were interested in prior to hiring Charlie Strong. Fisher has led Florida State to two college football playoff appearances in back-to-back years. Though the Seminoles’ season will unlikely end with a third-straight playoff run, Fisher has shown year-after-year he knows what it takes to win.
