SAT. NOV. 27: Recruits React to Tom Herman's Hiring

Jason Higdon and Taylor Estes have been working the phones to hear how recruits feel about Tom Herman taking over the reins at Texas following Charlie Strong's dismissal.

We will update this thread as we continue to touch base with various 2017 and 2018 prospects.

Damion Miller:  "Solid."

JALEN PRESTON: "It's a great move, a very great move and they will most definitely be in my top ten."

J.K. DOBBINS: "I don't have any (comment) because I'm going to Ohio State."

KOBE BOYCE: "It sucks. I came to Texas to play with Strong. He's a great man and I think he's gonna be successful wherever he lands. I think Herman would do good at Texas." When asked if the coaching change impacts his commitment, Boyce said, "It doesn't."

TAQUON GRAHAM: "I didn't want (Strong) to go but things have to keep going. And (Tom Herman is) a great get." When asked if Herman replacing Strong impacts his commitment status, Graham said, "It makes my commitment more comfy."

KARY VINCENT JR.: "That's big."

JORDAN MOORE: "Really good pick."

ATANZA VONGOR: "That's crazy. Good things coming for Texas."

ERIK EZUKANMA: "I think Charlie Strong is a good coach but it was probably just a wrong fit for him at UT. For who I hope they should replace him with, it's whoever they think can take Texas to being where they were in the past."

WED. NOV. 30: Powers Tidbit

GREG POWERS: A couple weeks back we put Texas as the trend school on one of our national articles at Scout that we do once a month. The Scout 300 Trend Meter.

This was done in the face of the fact that the UT staff was possibly about to be let go.

We mentioned Herman as a possible UT choice in the write up and how that could play favorably for Chaisson as UH was already listed as one of his top three.

Now Chaisson is very quiet about recruiting, but still we had heard there was a good chance that UT was the trending school even if CS had remained as the head coach at UT and of course Herman being in may have bolstered that sentiment.

Behind the scenes there are more than a couple out there in the recruiting world who feel really good about UT here with Chaisson and the strong possibility that he lands in UT's class and have for a few weeks at least.

Just wanted to pass it along.
