Standout RB Josh Fleeks One to Watch in 2018

One of the many standouts located in Cedar Hill (Texas) is 6-foot, 170-pound running back Josh Fleeks. The 2018 four-star back is the No 2 ranked running back in the Midland Region.

“I like Herman’s crew,” Josh Fleeks said.  “I know them pretty good because they did offer me when they were at Houston.  I think highly of them.”

Josh Fleeks is a highly athletic prospect who is a true offensive athlete. Fleeks lines up at running back, his natural position, and slot, where he's dangerous in the vertical passing game and the screen game. Fleeks owns a laser-timed 4.48 40 and a shuttle of 4.10, so he combines impressive straight-line acceleration and top-end speed with good closer-quarters agility to make defenders miss in space. Flashes the open-field wiggle to avoid tacklers. Once he plants his foot and goes, he's very difficult to track down from behind. Excellent potential as an all-purpose back who can contribute in the running game, passing game, and special teams as a return threat. Possesses good height (6-0), but will need to add bulk at the next level. Added weight will help his overall strength and ability to pick up blitzes and block on the perimeter as needed. Playing for one of Texas' best programs against excellent competition will help preparation for high-major college football. Overall, Fleeks is an electric offensive weapon which is a true big-play threat every time he touches the ball. -- Gabe Brooks
