Texas Lands Three-Star TE Cade Brewer

The University of Texas landed another verbal commitment for the class of 2017 when Cade Brewer made his intentions known. The three-star tight end prospect checks in from Austin (Texas) Lake Travis High School.

My Take

Brewer and his family were blown away by the Texas interest.  The second Tom Herman extended a verbal offer to Cade Brewer this was a done deal.  Sometimes in recruiting things just make sense, and Cade Brewer to Texas simply made sense.  Texas currently has eight verbal commitments for the class of 2017.  Cade Brewer joins Toneil Carter Jr., Taquon Graham, Josh Thompson, Montrell Estell, Kobe Boyce, Lagaryonn Carson, Sam Ehlinger and Damion Miller.  Brewer is the first tight end prospect to commit to Texas for this cycle.  Texas fans can expect to see one more tight end in this class.  Keep an eye on Chase Rogers and Reese Leitao for the final tight end position.
