There is no substitute for speed, and that is exactly what Javelin Guidry brings to the table with sub 4.4 times he is one of the fastest players in America. Texas extended an offer to the one-time Houston verbal commitment, and Guidry is excited about the opportunity with the Longhorns.
“I am really excited and just trusting and enjoying the process,” Javelin Guidry said. “At Texas, I had one of my best high school games at that stadium and won a 100m championship there, so I have great memories. Tom Herman is a great coach who wants you to be as successful as possible and will get the most out of you.”
Guidry breaks down his game.
“My man to man is my best using my speed to my advantage,” Guidry said. “I need to improve on the mental side of my game. Watching the film and recognizing things. For me, it will be somewhere where I will feel comfortable to live for 3-4 years. A place where I can develop and get better each year and great academics of course.”
Guidry is one of those prospects who just simply does not get enough credit for the type of player that he is and will be on the next level, but we expect him to continue his success into college. He exploded onto the scene with an eight interception season in 2014 and followed that up with a state championship in 2015. Along the way, he gains high honors from opposing offensive coordinators who laud him as one of the most feared defenders they face. He is one of the fastest players in a state known for its speed, clocking in with a laser-timed 4.35 40-yard dash.
