The decision is in for Vista Murrieta (Calif.) CB Javelin Guidry, who made his verbal pledge to Utah known to the public Friday afternoon.
While his initial plan was to announce on National Signing Day, Guidry had a change of heart late in the game, moving up his commitment five days before he signs his National Letter of Intent.
First-year head coach Tom Herman and his staff started recruiting the speedy corner as a junior while at the University of Houston. Guidry verbally committed to the Cougars prior to his senior season, but backed off of his word in late November, soon after Herman was announced as the Longhorns' next coach.
Utah was the first program to offer the four-star following his decision to re-open his recruiting process. Though a Texas offer would later follow, the Utes' won the battle.
Guidry is set to make his intentions official when he inks with Utah on National Signing Day.
