At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Cosmi ranks as the No. 13 offensive tackle in the Lone Star State, and No. 101 OT nationally in 2017.
Cosmi made his pledge public roughly 24-hours after returning from his weekend official visit in Austin. While Texas did not offer the 2017 prospect until last week, his relationship with first-year head coach Tom Herman extends beyond the month of January.
Both Herman and OL coach Derek Warehime recruited Cosmi during their time at Houston. The OT committed to the Cougars prior to his senior season - before Herman was hired at Texas.
Earlier this month, Cosmi told HornsDigest.com the reason behind his Houston pledge was because of the relationships he held with Herman and Warehime.
Though at the time he did not hold an offer, Cosmi mentioned how his burnt orange affinity started from a young age growing up in a family of Texas fans.
"My dream school was always the University of Texas," the Houston area prospect said. "I've always watched (the Longhorns), and my family are big Texas fans."
Cosmi will sign his NLI with the Longhorns on National Signing Day.
