Texas lost its outside shooting touch in the second half, and freshman big man Jarrett Allen couldn't do it all as the Longhorns lost 78-63 at TCU, getting swept by the Horned Frogs for the first time since 1987 and falling to 0-10 in games away from Austin this season.

Everything seemed to be going according to plan in the first half for Texas as the Longhorns shot 53.6 percent (15 of 28), including 40 percent from 3 (2-of-5) as well as 75 percent from the FT line (3-of-4) and trailed TCU by only 38-35 at intermission.

But TCU did a better job of mixing man and zone defenses in the second half, trying to neutralize Jarrett Allen (22 points, 9 rebounds), and Texas lost all of its outside shooting from Andrew Jones, Kerwin Roach and Eric Davis, who were a combined 1-of-10 FG for 3 points in the final 20 minutes.

Jones, Roach and Davis had combined to go 10-of-16 from the floor in the first half for 22 points.

The Longhorns, who fell to 9-14 (3-7 Big 12) and 0-10 away from Austin, have a home game against Iowa State up next on Tuesday following the Cyclones' 92-89 OT upset win at Kansas on Saturday.

Jarrett Allen was the bright light in this game for Texas - finishing with 22 points (on 9-14 shooting) and 9 rebounds. Shaq Cleare also came on strong for Texas in the second half, scoring 10 of his 12 points.

Andrew Jones was great in the first half (5-6 FG), scoring 11 of his 14 points, but was just 1-of-5 FG in the second half while also committing three of his five turnovers in the second half.

Kerwin Roach and Eric Davis were both 0-for in the second half - a combined 0-5 FG - after Davis was 3-6 FG and Roach was 2-4 FG, respectively, in the first half.

Texas played through its big men - namely Jarrett Allen - in the first half and trailed by only three at intermission. But the Longhorns lapsed back into poor decision making - going 0-of-8 from 3PT range in the second half and 2-of-13 for the game - as TCU pulled away for the win.

Texas closed TCU's lead to 67-60 with 4:38 left, but the Horns completely fell apart the rest of the way, allowing TCU to finish on an 11-3 run to sweep Texas for the first time since 1987.

Texas was out-rebounded 36-29 and turned it over 12 times (compared to 10 TOs by TCU)

Texas missed five of its last six FG attempts over the final 4:13, including missed 3-point shots by Davis, Roach and Jones.
