Four-Star OT Rafiti Ghirmai Talks Texas Longhorns and More

Numerous players from around the state of Texas will visit Austin on February 25th as the Longhorns prepare for the junior day. One player, Rafiti Ghirmai is looking forward to the experience Texas has to offer.

Four-Star Rafiti Ghirmai checks in from Frisco (Texas) Wakeland as the No 20 ranked offensive tackle prospect in America.

“Recruiting has been pretty fun with all types of schools contacting me and building relationships,” Rafiti Ghirmai said. “The things that stood out to me was Texas, SMU, and TCU because they have been recruiting me the hardest. I would like to see the Texas coaches and meet every one of them and talk to the players because those two will decide if I'm going there or not.”

Ghirmai will attend Texas junior day on February 25th with his mother, his brother and a friend.

“The person I've been talking to was Coach Warehime, and that's the only person that I've talked to,” Ghirmai said. “I hope they bring great opportunities for me.”

What can fans expect to see out of the talented tackle over the next several seasons?

“On the field, they can expect nothing but excellence,” Ghirmai said. “They will know that I will protect my quarterback no matter what. And for run game, I will acquire my blocks and make sure I put them on their backs.”
