Four-Star WR Al'Vonte Woodard Talks Texas JR Day

Four-Star wide receiver Al’Vonte Woodard is a wanted man. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound standout checks in from Houston (Texas) Lamar high school.

One of the most heavily recruited high schools in the 2018 cycle will be Lamar.  Anthony Cook, Al'vonte Woodard, D'Shawn Jamison, Joshua Landry and Ta'Zhawn Henry all have big time offers.

Woodard is the No 18 ranked wide receiver prospect in America.  He checks in at No 107 overall regardless of position; No 3 ranked wide receiver in the Midland region and No 3 in the state of Texas.  Woodard and some of his Lamar teammates will be in Austin this weekend for the Texas junior day weekend.

“Being heavily recruited by Texas is awesome,” Woodard said.  “I love the vibe of my position coach, coach Mehringer.  I am closest with my position coach, coach Mehringer.  Making my final decision will be on how I feel around the coaches, like can I be myself around them.”
