Acceleration, speed, quickness, vision and cutback ability are just a few things that make Justin Watkins a dangerous weapon in the open field.  He will make his unofficial visit to Texas this weekend.  Could Watkins be the first verbal commitment for the class of 2018?  Tom Herman, Stan Drayton, and Drew Mehringer are all recruiting Justin Watkins to Texas, and the plan is working.  The Texas coaching staff will have a chance to close it out this weekend.  Watkins has been committed to both LSU and Florida State at various times since his 9th-grade season.

Scout.com Take

Just put the pigskin in Watkins' hands and let him go to work. The electric rising junior has the capabilities to take it to the house each time he touches the ball and flashes outstanding vision and cutback ability when navigating in the open field as well. Watkins is also a slithery runner that shows good acceleration and a second gear once seeing a lane to the end zone. Watkins, who stars as a returner on special teams, will likely shift out to wide receiver or cornerback before it's all said and done. This fleet-footed runner possesses some shiftiness and does a nice job of stopping on a dime to shake off opponents.
