Four-Star OL Kardell Thomas Lands Texas Offer Recaps JR Day

Head coach Tom Herman and the rest of the Texas coaching staff hosted their first official Junior Day with the Texas Longhorns this weekend, and out of state OL, Kardell Thomas was able to attend.

Kardell Thomas checks in from Baton Rouge (LA) Southern University Lab at 6-foot-4, 325-pounds from the class of 2019.   Thomas, currently committed to the home town team LSU Tigers decided to make the trip to check out the Texas Junior Day.

“The overall experience was great, and my mom, dad, and Aunt came with me,” Kardell Thomas said. “The first thing I did was talk to Coach Warehime, Coach Giles and Coach Corby and the message was that sometimes you got to break the barrier and don't be afraid to switch to Texas. Texas stands out for me and my family I like them a lot.  The offer feels great because one of the most historical schools wants me and they have me as #1 on their recruiting board.”

Texas will bring in a few more 2019 offensive line players on Sunday, but Thomas will be at the top of the board over the next two recruiting cycles.
