Kilgore (Texas) wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd made an unofficial visit to Texas earlier today to take part in the Longhorns first Junior Day of 2017. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide out walked away very impressed.
“The experience for today was again overwhelming for just being able to even be there at UT,” Jonathan Shepherd said. “My coach went with me today due to my parents not being able to take me because of ministry. The first thing I did was meet everybody that was there.”
Shepherd was able to spend time with Coach Warehime and Coach Mehringer.
“The overall message was just how Texas was just a family atmosphere and that while we were there that what we saw and how they acted was exactly how they were going to act as if we were there,” Shepherd said. “I got to see the different kind of recruits and how they think in the meetings we had together, but on a personal level I wasn’t able to "meet" them.”
Where do the Longhorns stand with Shepherd?
“Definitely in the top schools to go to,” Shepherd said. “Texas is an awesome school to go to, and I would recommend it for other kids to go there.”
