Three-Star CB Trent Gordon Goes In-Depth on Longhorns, Junior Day and More

Three-star Cornerback Trent Gordon made an unofficial visit to Austin this weekend as the Texas Longhorns hosted their first Junior Day of the season.

Three-star defensive back Trent Gordon checks in from Manvel (Texas) at 6-foot, 175-pounds.  He holds offers from California Golden Bears, Houston Cougars, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Mississippi Rebels, Oklahoma Sooners, Penn State Nittany Lions, TCU Horned Frogs, and Tennessee Volunteers.  He has camped with both California and LSU.  This weekend he visited with the Texas Longhorns for Junior Day.

“When I first got to the school Coach Naivar was the first person that greeted me, and he took me around the school, and he showed me around before the actual tour started,” Trent Gordon said. “He's a really good coach, and I like him and I've been talking to him for actually a while now, so it wasn't like I just met him or something like that it was just kind of a mutual thing where I see him he sees me and we're just like what's up.”

Gordon spent a lot of time with Coach Naivar and Washington throughout the day on Sunday.

“I got a chance to speak with of course Coach Naivar, and I got a chance to speak with Coach Washington as well,” Gordon said.  “Of course they said that they want me at the school, but they don't want to waste my time to offer me just now because they don't even know who they want to move around in their secondary just yet. It'll be pointless for me to hold an offer from them right now when they don't even know if their defensive scheme is so they're holding back on offering me right now until spring ball so they're trying to figure out where their players stand with them right now.”

The vibe was outstanding throughout the weekend, and the recruits noticed

“It seemed like the other recruits enjoyed themselves at UT," Gordon said. "I know some of the other defensive backs that visited the school, so they seem like they liked it as well, and of course I got to speak to some of their families as well, and they were saying how wonderful a coach Tom Herman was and that he's making a lot of good improvements in the school."

Where do the Longhorns stand for Trent Gordon?

“I can't exactly say where Texas stands with my recruiting process because I don't hold an offer from them," Gordon said. "If I were to say something about where they stand they are not too far down on my school's list because I don't hold an offer. If I do get one from them they would be pretty high on my list but other than that I can't say exactly where they stand on my list.”
