Texas football coach Tom Herman issued a statement Tuesday night in response to the arrest of Longhorns' 2017 tight end signee Reese Leitao of Jenks High School in Tulsa, Okla., on a charge of possession and delivery of a controlled substance with intent to sell within a thousand feet of a school.
Statement from Texas Football Head Coach Tom Herman on 2017 Texas TE signee Reese Leitao:
"We're aware of the situation involving our signee, Reese Leitao. We're collecting information, will talk to Reese and his family, let the legal system run its course and then address it further at the appropriate time."
Leitao was arrested Tuesday at Jenks High School in Tulsa, where the 2017 Texas signee is a standout tight end.
Leitao has been charged with possession and delivery of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to sell within a thousand feet of a school. According to a police report, Leitao was in possession of $1300 in cash as well as roughly 20 Xanax tablets. The police report said Leitao admitted to a school administrator he was selling Xanax.
