Overland Park (KS) Blue Valley North is home to one of the top defensive ends in Kansas, and his name is Miles Emery. Emery and his family made an unofficial visit to Texas as Tom Herman held his first junior day as the head Longhorn.
“I can't remember who met me outside, but I remember how great everything looked and felt down there, and the first we did was watch their highlight video of the football team,” Miles Emery said. “I spoke with the D-line coach for some of the time, and then the defenses coaches and the D-line coach told me he likes guys like me. Everyone up there seemed liked they were having a great time and enjoyed part of it, and so was I. I got to meet some of the other defensive linemen that were down there, and it was cool meeting with them because I've never talked or heard about any of them. It's (Texas) up there with all my other schools, and it was fun for my family to be down there. We had a pretty good feeling about being down there.”
Texas fans can expect anywhere from 4-5 defensive line prospects in the class of 2018.
