OT John Lanz Breaks down his game and the Longhorns

Denton (Texas) Guyer Offensive tackle John Lanz checks in at 6-foot-4, 280-pounds from the class of 2018. Texas Longhorns offensive line coach Derek Warehime is in constant communication with the rising senior.

Since the new coaching staff took over fans, have been wondering what the sales pitch would be.  John Lanz will explain from a players point of view.

“I communicate with Coach Warehime on a pretty much daily basis,” John Lanz said. “The coaches are really emphasizing strong overall culture, environment, education and their focus on preparing players to succeed.  I see all the coaches as having a very high energy, with an attitude to raise the program to the highest levels while preparing their players for life.”

I am not sure what else you are looking for in an offensive line prospect other than what Lanz already has.

“My work ethic and internal drive to succeed on the field by year-round dedication to the weight room and conditioning to get better every day,” Lanz said. “I feel I am a very intelligent and coachable player. I work hard to take what is learned in practice/film to the field and feel confident that I know and understand my position and responsibilities.  My strength and physicality on the field. I feel I play with an aggressive "mean streak" while maintaining technique, and overall positional play responsibility.”
