Texas, which has a desperate need at tight end, can't confirm anything until Moore is admitted/enrolled as a UT grad student, which hasn't happened yet.
But Moore announced on his Instagram account Sunday he's headed to Texas:
"Officially a Longhorn. Happy to call Texas my new home."
Moore played in 37 games at Syracuse with four starts and had 15 receptions for 150 yards, including two touchdowns (medical redshirt in 2015), per his Syracuse bio:
Texas has a desperate need at tight end. The only veteran at the position for the Longhorns - senior-to-be Andrew Beck - is coming off of a broken foot.
Redshirt freshman Peyton Aucoin (6-5, 250) has battled a shoulder injury this spring. Incoming freshman TE Cade Brewer of Lake Travis is 6-foot-3 and now up to 230 pounds. But incoming freshman TE Reese Leitao (6-4, 237) of Jenks High School in Tulsa is facing a felony drug charge pending an April 18 court hearing in Oklahoma.
Backup tight end Garrett Gray, a 6-4, 230-pound junior, was converted after playing receiver. Texas coach Tom Herman has said Gray is probably a year away physically from being ready to really contribute.
MY TAKE: With Texas down to Beck, Gray, Aucoin and incoming freshman Cade Brewer of Lake Travis because of Leitao's uncertain future Considering Andrew Beck had just 4 catches for 82 yards and 2 TDs last season at Texas and has a career total 12 catches for 159 yards and 2 TDs, seems like any experience at the position is a positive in light of UT's current situation.
