Texas Longhorns Spring Football Injury Update: C Zach Shackelford and DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles Undergoing Surgery

HornsDigest.com has breaking injury news from Texas spring football.

The injury bug is plaguing the Texas Longhorns. First-year head coach Tom Herman delivered some injury news following Tuesday's spring practice.

Herman confirmed C Zach Shackelford underwent ankle surgery Tuesday morning, after suffering repeated high-ankle sprains throughout his life. The latest ankle injury came March 25 during the Longhorns' first scrimmage of spring football. The head coach and his staff are hoping to have Shackelford back at full-speed with no further lingering issues by fall camp.

DT D'Andre Christmas-Giles is battling through a sports hernia, but will finish out the remainder of spring practice. He is expected to have surgery to fix the hernia in Philadelphia the week following the Orange-White spring game.
