One of the most underrated players in the Texas recruiting class of 2017 is Kobe Boyce. The three-star Lake Dallas product has something to prove and is ready to help this team win now.
“My excitement level about the next chapter is indescribable,” Kobe Boyce said. “I’m just ready to have that Texas across my chest. They’re going to use me as a corner and receiver. The new coaches at Texas are the real deal, and all have that fire attitude. I talk to coach Washington and coach Beck the most. I’m just excited to be on my own and take on the next chapter of my life. You should expect a fire player who loves the game and the school a lot who's going to put their heart out every game every practice.”
Boyce is a cornerback who has good size at the position and will only look more impressive as he adds some weight but has the height to match-up with the opposing team's No. 1 outside receiver. He is a strong talent against the run and will come up and secure the edge. Again, that will be an even bigger strength as he adds natural size and power with natural development. He played a huge role in his team's on the field success in 2015, as he locked down one-half of the field and team's rarely want to pass or run on the side he lines up on.
2016: Boyce finished his senior season with 36 tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble, two pass breakups, and one field-goal block. He also gained 154 yards on offense, including four passes for 136 yards and a touchdown.
2015: As a junior, Boyce assembled a strong season with 40 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, and eight pass breakups for a Lake Dallas team that went 12-3 and reached the state semifinals in Texas' Class 5A Division II.
