Texas Longhorns are on the recruiting trail, extending offers to several 2018 and 2019 prospects nationwide.
A former Nebraska Cornhuskers commit, Beason announced his decision to reopen his recruiting process Tuesday morning, stating he made his pledge to Nebraska too early. Though he is officially decommitted, Beason stated the Cornhuskers remain a top program.
Texas is just one of dozens of D-I colleges interested in landing the newly uncommitted Bishop Dunne prospect, including Texas A&M Aggies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners, LSU Tigers, among others.
SCOUT EVALUATION: MARQUEZ BEASON
Beason is an electric offensive player. He lines up all over the field. Beason will play slot, wildcat quarterback, running back, outside receiver and return kicks and punts. He is dangerous in the open field, showing an extra gear and a great burst. He is shifty and will find running lanes and when he gets moving north and south he will hit the nitro button and make a huge play. Beason has a knack for finding the end zone and is a home run hitter who can score from anywhere on the field. He is one of the most explosive prospects in the TXHSFB 2019 class and plays for a program that is known to send many prospects to the next level. He projects best as a slot wide receiver. -- Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst Greg Powers.
