Current Commit Update: Rashad Bobino

We spoke with Texas LB commit Rashad Bobino about his trip to the Cotton Bowl for the Red River Shootout.

Despite the outcome of the game, Bobino remained upbeat about Texas and firm in his commitment to them.

"Give OU credit, they're a good ball club," said the LaMarque MLB. "This is a rebuilding year for Texas. Give them a couple years and they'll be back at the top where they should be."

According to Bobino, he along with the recruits that UT has coming in, will get the defense back to where it needs to be and UT back on top of the national polls.

"I thought the defense could have played a lot better," he revealed. "They just didn't get enough pressure on Jason White and he's too good when he has time."

The blue-chip linebacker said his season at LaMarque High School has progressed well.

"I've been laying some bone crushing hits, I had 24 tackles in one game and I've blocked a couple of punts on the year," he said.

On a side note: Bobino's LaMarque teammate, (WR) Keith Dickerson, has received quite a bit of attention for his play. Bobino said Texas has a good shot to land Dickerson despite Texas wanting him to sit out the fall 2004 semester and enroll during the spring.

"Keith is aware that Texas wants him to sit out the fall," Bobino said. "I think it would give him time to completely recover from his knee injury, plus he'd get to have me as a roommate."
