Texas At No. 16 In Both Major Polls

Texas moved up to No. 16 in both the Associated Press and USA-Today/ESPN (Coaches) polls released Sunday, following its 56-0 thrashing of Baylor. Both of the Horns' next two opponents are ranked higher in the wire service polls.

Nebraska checks in at No. 9 in the AP and No. 12 in the coaches poll. The Huskers and the Horns kick off, 11.am. (Central) Saturday at DKR. Texas holds a 4-1 series lead since Big 12 play began in 1996. Nebraska is atop the Big 12 North Division standings with a 3-1 mark, 7-1 overall.

Oklahoma maintained the top spot after upending Colorado, 34-20. The Sooners host explosive Oklahoma State (No. 14 Coaches; No. 15 AP) in the Bedlam Series Saturday. The Cowboys are 7-1 on the year, reeling off seven straight since dropping the season-opener at Nebraska.

Missouri parlayed its 62-31 win over Texas Tech into a No. 21 ranking (Coaches) while entering the AP Poll at No. 24.
