Recruiting: Adrian Peterson Update

IT caught up with Adrian Peterson to talk about a recent report that he had already eliminated Texas, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech and had settled on USC for his final official visit.

The state's No. 1 prospect scoffed at the notion.

"You didn't hear that from me," Peterson said. "And until you do, don't believe any of that stuff."

Peterson went on to say that he's already touched base with the party that had him giving USC the fifth-and-final spot and said that the report wasn't accurate.

"I haven't eliminated anybody..."

So, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Texas and USC all have a shot?

"Yes, they do."

That's consistent with what we've been reporting.

Peterson's focus has been playoffs No. 1 and anything else recruiting-related has been put on hold...

The state's top-ranked tailback has accumulated over 2,000 yards on the ground and reached paydirt 29 times. Needless to say, he's wanted by several teams across the nation and the suspense around which team will earn his final official continues until Peterson says otherwise...

We'll have more on our conversation with AD in this week's Inside Scoop...
