Three for Three: Chance Mock Stayin' Put

Mack Brown and staff secured a clean sweep over the last five days with announcements from all three potential junior defectors that they intend to remain on the Forty Acres for their senior seasons. Derrick Johnson announced last Thursday, and the final word came Tuesday afternoon at Bellmont when, moments after Cedric Benson wrapped up comments about his decision to stay in school, a UT spokesman gave the word that Chance Mock also planned to return.

UT's junior QB released the following statement through the school:

"Four years ago I made a commitment to Texas and Coach Brown made a commitment to me to help me become the best player I could possibly be. I did briefly consider looking at other options, but the more I looked the more I realized that The University of Texas is the best place for me. I've made some of my best friends in the world here and I love everything about Texas Football, Austin and the state of Texas. I'm looking forward to another exciting season, graduating and getting my T-ring."

Mock's return keeps the Horns at three scholarship QBs heading into spring: Senior-to-be Mock, sophomore-to-be Vince Young and junior-to-be Matt Nordgren.
