Recruiting: Thornton Follows Brothers To Austin

With news of Dallas St. Mark's wideout Kenton Thornton making his Forty Acres official visit made public by Inside Texas earlier this week, the question was a simple, 'Would he land an offer?' Of course, we thought he would and even said as much in last week's story, but until catching up with the young lad nothing is official...

"I always had an offer," said legacy prospect Kenton Thornton. "I knew I had one back in the summer. I guess it wasn't official back then, but I knew I was going to commit to Texas back then."

"I just always wanted t go down there," the 3-star Lone Star State prep said on committing to the Horns. "I like the family atmosphere. Just really good coaches and good people who care about you as a person first."

Thornton's player host?

"His name was Robert," he said.

Dean: Robert Killebrew?

KT: Yes, that's the guy.

The state's No. 34 overall prospect said he had a great time on his official visit and really enjoyed being shown around but said at Texas you hang out with everybody.

"I really enjoyed going to the basketball game and hanging out with the players and coaches more than anything else on my visit," Thornton said.

Asked about Xavier Lee and if he thought he had a good time, the 6-5 WR/TE UT commit said matter-of-factly, "Yeah, he did. Of course he did."

Dean: A real good shot?

KT: Yes, I think we have a real good shot at him.

More on how good Texas' chances at the Daytone Beach 5-star product later, but for now, Orangebloods can celebrate another commitment and a chance to see the legacy prospect on Saturdays in Austin...
