Current Commit Update: Rashad Bobino

IT talked to Texas commit Rashad Bobino recently to check in with him see how his official visit to Austin went this past weekend.

"Lovely," said the La Marque linebacker. "I want to go back right now -- that's how much I liked it. The guys there were great. We all had good chemistry."

His player host was none other than fellow linebacker and Butkus Award finalist Derrick Johnson.

"D.J. was awesome."

Asked how things went with his some of his new Texas teammates, Bobino said, "Cool. (Derek) Lokey was wearing his championship ring from ('02) -- [laughing] it should have been mine."

So what will it take for Texas to grab one of those next year?

"We have to beat Oklahoma," he said, "I want to beat them bad. All the upperclassmen are focused on beating OU this year and if we do that, we can put ourselves in position to play for the national championship."

Anything to pass on to Orangebloods reading this?

"Sure, I'm not coming to lose!"

Great news for Longhorn fans.

Funny side note: Bobino wants everyone to know that he's not 5-9 (we list him at 5-9.5). "I'm 5-10; 5-11 with cleats on!"
