"Currently, he's been offered by SMU, Baylor, Texas Tech, OU, Purdue, Arizona and UTEP," Turner revealed.
"Texas hasn't yet, but they said they're probably only going to offer one DB," Turner continued. "They said it's between him and one other guy."
Why not offer and/or take both?
Well, for one, the Texas secondary has been an area of strength this off-season after two consecutive DB-heavy classes. And two, with a limited number of 'ships to extend (14-16), expect the Longhorns to continue being very selective and conservative in making scholarship offers (quite possibly with just one of our top two difference-making DBs snagging an offer)...
Other top programs who are close to pulling the offer trigger per Sulphur Spring's head man, "Florida, Notre Dame, LSU and USC have yet to offer. They're all very interested and so is Texas."
"Florida said they'd offer if both Texas and Oklahoma offered," Turner detailed. "They said they're only recruiting a few kids in Texas"
"The last 'biggie' came from Oklahoma. And, Keenan's going up there this Saturday for their Spring Game this weekend."
The 6-1, 200-pounder was in attendance for UT's Orange and White game per Turner, but this week it's Crimson and Cream time, and the Sooners have a bit of an advantage in terms of being able to say, "We've offered. How do you like it here? We want you."
So while that will be something to follow, what the Horns decide to do regarding the Texas Hot 100's top two DBs -- Clayton and Tatum -- will also entertain...
Do they offer both and take first-come, first-served?
