Junior Update: Keenan Clayton On Trips To UT, OU

A couple of weeks back, Sulphur Springs stud Keenan Clayton visited UT in Austin for its Orange-White Game, and even more recently visited OU in Norman for the Red-White Game. The all-star running back, who we projected as a college safety in our January version of the Texas Hot 100, is someone to watch. Scholarship offers from several top programs have him moving up recruiting lists. And we've had the kid ranked top ten even before he picked up one or two 'ship offers...

Rest assured, the kid's a baller and is deserving of any and all hoopla he receives.

Dean: So about that visit to Oklahoma?

Keenan Clayton: I liked it. I really enjoyed it. They're one of my favorites. Oklahoma and Texas, those are my top two.

Dean: Your coach told me the Sooners officially offered you about a week or two ago...

Clayton: They offered me about two-three weeks ago, before I went up there.

Dean: And the visit to Texas?

Clayton: I liked it a lot, too. I talked to Coach Brown and Coach Akina. They were going to get back with me soon. They said they were also going to come down for the spring and take a look at me.

The Horns have a few defensive back prospects to scout and mull over regarding who to offer. They may only be able to offer one, two at the most. Some of the defensive backs they could be checking out: Clayton, F.W. Dunbar's Brandon Tatum (the brother of current Longhorn freshman DB Bobby Tatum), Pearland's Quinton Moore and Lufkin's Alton Dixon...

The Sooners, on the other hand, appear to be looking at both Clayton and Dixon, but also Edmond (OK) Santa Fe's Reggie Smith and possibly Monroe, Pennsylvania's Justin King.
