Junior Update: Chase Daniel Adding Offers

Chase Daniel, out of Southlake, Texas, has been racking up the offers of late, but so far nothing from childhood favorite the Texas Longhorns. Inside Texas spoke to the talented quarterback about some of the schools that have offered up schollies and his time frame on making a commit.

"Right now, I have received official offers from Missouri, Maryland, Duke, Houston, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State," Daniel said.

"No Texas yet," said the Carroll QB. "I've received the hand-written stuff, but nothing official. They just aren't offering yet. I've talked to coach Davis and we have had some good conversations, but I guess they will offer in time."

Daniel, who went to the UT Spring Game, said he had an awesome time and was "impressed with the coaching staff and how they managed the game."

Oklahoma State, which has been recruiting the state of Texas pretty hard, has Daniel talking them up. "I like them a lot," Daniel said. "I talked to head coach Les Miles and he said I was an excellent athlete and they would be lucky to have me on their team. That makes you feel pretty good when a coach tells you that."

"I would put Oklahoma State right at the top of my list," he added.

Texas A&M has been going after quarterbacks pretty hard, what's your thoughts on them?

"Again, the Aggies are a school I would consider going to. I know they have offered Colt McCoy and Todd Walker, so there is definitely a need for quarterback down there."

This just in: Daniel said: "Wisconsin told me an offer should be here today"

The state's No. 34 said the Big 10 is a great conference and it would be cool to play in the Upper Midwest.

"Wisconsin said they are coming down to visit soon, too."

So, what does the future hold for one of the top quarterbacks in Texas as far as the recruiting process goes? Is he an early commit, or will he let the process run its course?

"You know, I may just take it all the way into February," said the senior-to-be. "We'll see how things work out. I'm excited about the upcoming season and can't wait to get started."
