The big-timer is very flattered by all of the recent attention. However, an early commitment appears to be something he's not interested in, at least at this point.
"Texas wants me to commit as soon as they offer, but I want to weigh my options and check out some other schools."
As for who those other schools might be, the Lakeview Centennial TE/DE/LB said, "Oklahoma, the teams in Florida -- like Florida and Miami -- Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Tech and maybe A&M."
Asked about his thoughts on Texas, Duncan said, "I've always been a Texas fan. And I've always loved the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry. I'm a huge fan of Ricky Williams. They're also right up the street. And they're strict regarding academics, so they'll make me stay on top of my grades."
[Staying on top of his grades is something the standout kid wants to do. With a 2.4 core GPA, Duncan said he scored an 890 on his most recent SAT but would like to improve that.]
Dean: Thoughts on Oklahoma?
Brandon Duncan: Great football team, great program. But they haven't sent me anything yet.
Dean: The Florida schools…like Florida and Miami?
BD: Would love to hear from them and would probably take an official visit if either of those schools offered a scholarship.
Dean: Oklahoma State…
BD: My principal went there and he obviously likes them. They've been sending me stuff and said they were going to order some film and check it out.
Dean: Kansas State?
BD: One of my coaches went there and he said they're interested. They've come up. And they're just so powerful, so I like them.
Dean: Texas Tech?
BD: That's another Texas school that is in the Big 12. A school my uncle has told me about. And they've come up…
As for his "maybe A&M" comments, Duncan said, "My coach will be coaching at one of their one-day camps and I'm going to go also. So, I'm going to go up there and see it, so…"
Speaking of one-day camps, the fast-rising senior-to-be from Lakeview Centennial said he'll "definitely attend two camps" and "will try to make three".
"I'm going to a Texas camp and an A&M camp, for sure."
