"I'm going to the Texas June 6th mini-camp, Clemson June 8th," Sexton said. "I'm going to FSU, not sure of the date, also going to North Carolina State and I'm not sure of that date either."
"I'll make an unofficial visit sometime soon, not sure when."
The 6-2, 170-pounder said his top five today consists of these five teams: "Florida State (offer), Virginia Tech (offer), North Carolina State, Clemson and Texas."
His thoughts on those teams can be found below...
Florida State -- "Them being the first Florida school to offer and one of the first to offer means a lot. They sent two coaches to see me and just the prestige of Florida State has me looking at them..."
Virginia Tech -- "They were the first to offer. Head coach Frank Beamer came down to see me. And I've developed a good relationship with (QB) Coach (Kevin) Rogers and (Recruiting Coordinator/SS/OLB) Coach (Jim) Cavanaugh."
North Carolina State -- "I just like the direction their program is headed in. It's close to home. And the QB situation they're in -- they only have two QBs -- is interesting to me."
Clemson -- (QB) Coach (Mike) O' Cain has been recruiting me and they run the same offense that we do. They're only four hours away. They beat Tennessee last year and there's talk that Charlie Whitehurst might be going to the NFL next year..."
Texas -- They called me very early in the process and let me know that they had interest in me. They're a strong program, a national program that always fields a great team. They are the furthest away from home, but distance is not a factor. And I just really like their QB situation. They haven't signed a quarterback in two years."
Notes: Sexton clocked a 4.47 at one of the Combines this past spring...
JR. Stats: 1,700 yards, 12 TDs passing; 5 rushing TDs...
"I would have to really be blown away. Originally, I said I wanted to commit early, but I probably won't commit until I take a few official visits in the fall."
