The Aggie defense stuffed Cedric Benson through three quarters, limiting the Longhorn freshman to just 12 yards on 14 carries, but Benson's fourth quarter running was instrumental in the Horns' victory. Benson finished with 79 yards on 27 carries. "The way I've grown up playing football, I know you've gotta run it to win it," Benson said post-game. (ALLSPORT/Ronald Martinez)
Kalen Thornton sacks Mark Farris during the second half. The Horns registered a season-high four sacks, one each by Thornton, Tyrone Jones, Cory Redding and Marcus Tubbs. The A&M offense managed just 165 total yards and only 48 on the ground. Thornton finished with six tackles. (ALLSPORT/Ronald Martinez)
Chris Simms drops back to pass against the Aggies. The Horns' junior QB completed 16 of his 33 pass attempts for 138 yards with no INTs on an extremely windy day in College Station. "The wind was a factor in what we were trying to do," offensive coordinator Greg Davis said. Simms and many of the Horns' other offensive players cited the wind, along with a stout Aggie D, as a factor in the offense's struggles. Texas had its second-lowest yardage output of the season with 235. (ALLSPORT/Ronald Martinez)
