Recruiting: A New 'Co-Leader' For Madison's Young

Another school has pulled into a dead heat with Miami for the No. 1 ranked player in Texas:

"Texas has pulled even with Miami," Young told HeartlandRecruiting on Sunday afternoon. They're co-leaders with Miami now. I'm still considering Florida State and Southern Miss too."

In a tough second round game against Katy Friday night, Young completed 10-of-18 for 170 yards with one touchdown. He also rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries and another score as the Marlins defeated Katy 40-21.

For the season, Young has now completed 91-of-159 (57%) for 1,700 yards with 24 touchdowns against only three interceptions. He has also rushed for 883 yards on 77 carries (11.5 ypc) with 18 touchdowns.

Originally having a trip scheduled to Miami for November 23rd and possibly being in the playoffs for another month, Vincent was asked if he had scheduled (or rescheduled) any visits.

"I haven't rescheduled anything yet," he said. "I'll just have to talk to all the coaches. We could be playing up to four more games."

Madison will take on Galena Park North Shore this Friday night.

As for his tests, Young is still waiting.

"I took my SAT on November 3rd," he said. "I'm still waiting for the results to come back."
