"I liked it a lot," said the '03 5A Player of the Year. "They (Texas coaching staff) treated me real well. I came away really impressed."
Regarding his camp performance, the 6-0.5, 205-pounder said, "I think I did real good at the camp. I spun it pretty good. I thought I threw the ball really well."
One of the pet peeves of the highly competitive QB is the label that he's a system quarterback. Daniel -- who said he can take you 60 yards deep -- has the arm strength to stretch a D, and in fact a better arm than most give him credit for. Not to mention he can get around on his feet well enough to move the chains if a defense drop too many in coverage. He may very well have proven all of the above on Sunday.
In the sporting wheels department, Daniel ripped off a 4.5 forty time which is .10 seconds faster than we currently have him listed.
That'll certainly grab your attention and the Longhorn coaching staff apparently took notice.
And while some want to project the passer also at the wide receiver position or even on D as safety prospect, Daniel said stopping at just QB would be perfectly fine by him.
"I know I can play quarterback."
"Then, I'm going to play in a baseball tournament this Thursday and Friday in Houston, so I'm also going to visit Coach Art Briles and check out the University of Houston at the end of the week," Daniel continued.
Additionally, the Carroll QB also said "sometime this summer, I would like to make it out to Stanford to see them."
